A Mission of HOPE

‘HOPE’ Training and consulting services was established through a love and passion for the field of gerontological care. Seven years’ experience within Partnership and Finance: Older Persons program in the employment of Social Development, provided practitioner and founder Mrs. C. Mc Millan insight into the challenges experienced by organizations in the field of elderly care. The need for a service focussing on training, legislative consultation and statutory services were emphasised during research interviews conducted with several service providers, for the completion of her Master’s Degree in Social Work. The name ‘HOPE’ is shorthand for; ‘Helping Older Persons & Establishments’. The institution strives to bring about hope, love, and guidance to organizations and families in need as well as elderly in crises. With a focus on enriching not only the lives of elderly but also those responsible for their daily needs, ‘HOPE’ Training- and Consulting Services endeavours to be the voice for the aged and activists for those responsible for their care. ‘HOPE’ has noted the need for advocacy in the field of gerontology and therefore we strive to provide better services to all elderly, regardless of race and social status. Support and development of organizations in elderly care as well as communities is of utmost importance as social change starts at ground level. As a community based practice focusing on a person-cantered approach, the wellbeing of all is our number one priority.

In an attempt to make this mission and vision a reality Hope partnered up with local attorney Mrs. C.N. Van Den Berg, who assists our clients from a legal perspective.
